Since we have moved to NE Tennessee about a year and a half ago, we have wanted to visit “The Carter Fold.” The short story is that it is a place in the “sticks” in Virginia where some people say bluegrass & country music were born. If you are interested in the history of the place, you can read more about it here

When my husband, Nick, was a boy, his grandpa Fritz told him that he wished someone in the family played the banjo. This led to his desire to take lessons when we moved to this part of the country. The music really is part of the culture here & we thoroughly enjoyed it last Saturday as we listened to the music & tried out “flat foot dancing.”

Here are some pictures from our visit.

Hope sometime you can go with us!
